Fabiana
Claure performed extensively
in the United States and also in Bolivia and Cuba. Born in Chicago and raised
in Bolivia, Mrs. Claure graduated with honors from the National School of Music
in Havana, Cuba. After one year of further study at the Higher Institute of
Arts in Havana, Claure won a Full Tate Piano Scholarship to continue her studies
at the College of Charleston where she graduated cum laude. She is studying
for a Masters of Music with Joaquin Achucarro at Southern Methodist University
where she has a full piano scholarship. Claure won first prize in the Anaya
Piano Competition in 1993, ‘Mus-Art’ Young Pianist National Competition in
Bolivia in 1997,and the 2002 Fraser Young Artists Piano Competition in Columbia,
S.C. In 2003 and 2004 she was awarded the Edwin Peacock Award for Excellence
in Piano. In addition to her performing career, Claure has been a private teacher
to both children and adults in Bolivia and the United States.
