Brian Marquis began his study of classical guitar with Franklin Kimlicko in Tyler, Texas, after having taught himself to play electric guitar for both his high school pop ensemble and his own “garage band.” After moving to the Dallas area and working as a computer support technician, he returned to school, obtaining scholarships to study guitar with Enric and Sabine Madriguera, Randall Nye, and Dr. Robert Guthrie. Brian is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance at SMU and plans to continue his studies after graduation in December, 2007. Brian plays for his church and has just returned from a mission trip to Peru where he played guitar for young children.
