Andy Pruyn (‘Prine’) is a Dallas area drummer who has been playing music for 32 years. He has experience playing jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock, latin, worship, country, blues, ska, reggae, drumline, and orchestral music. He has played with national artists, local top 40 cover bands, and local churches.
Artists that Andy has performed with include Lee Greenwood, The Katinas, Toledo Glassmen (DCI), Galen Jeter & The Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Random Axis, and Good Question.
While attending Northern Kentucky University, Andy studied percussion with Dick Jensen of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. In 2002, Mr. Pruyn performed in the Kentucky All-Collegiate Jazz Ensemble at the Kentucky Music Educators Association Annual Convention. Andy graduated from NKU with a Bachelor’s in Music Education.
Mr. Pruyn has taught drums and percussion for 21 years in Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Wisconsin, Brazil, & Russia. His affiliations include the Percussive Arts Society and the Vic Firth Education Team.
Andy enjoys spending time with his daughter, serving at church, and going on mission trips.
