Ed McSweeney is a Drums Teacher at Gray School of Music
Ed McSweeney Originally from Chicago Ed moved to Texas in 2003 to attend the University of North Texas on a jazz studies scholarship. While in college he played in the jazz band, marching band, orchestra, steel drum band and studied drum set with Ed Soph, Jose Aponte, and Henry Okstel. While in college he held contracts as the drummer for 6-flags over texas, and Princess Cruise ships. Upon graduating with a degree in Music Education, Ed entered the U.S. Army as a drummer and spent the next 8 years playing in the Army jazz, rock, and marching bands. Currently Ed is director of Instrumental music at DA Hulcy STEAM Academy in Dallas ISD. He maintains a busy performing schedule playing with groups such as Mars Hill, the George Strait Experience, Jackson Eli, David Redwine, and others all around the DFW area.
