Hechengzi (Chengzi) Li is a Piano Teacher for Gray School of Music
Hechengzi Li is a Young Steinway Artist who was featured on the cover of the World of Music magazine and described as “The rising star, the genuine and passionate storyteller through music.”
Ms. Li began her piano studies at the age of two and went on to win the grand prize in the toddler group of Lui Shikun International Piano competition at the age of three. At the age of 5, she was introduced as a music prodigy on the cover of Eastern Airline Magazine. While receiving top review from news reports, Chengi was presented on headline s of multiple media websities. Ms Li became the youngest signed solo artist to Shaan Xi Symphony Orchestra in 2021.
Chengzi entered the College Division of the Juilliard School in 2015 at an expectionally young age of 16. She completed her Bachelor and Master’s degrees at the Juilliard school in 2021. She is presently studying with Sergei Babayan at SMU. She has released two solo albums in 2022, “Bloom” and “Chopin, Stravinsky, and Scraibin” which can be heard on You Tube.
Hechengzi has been on the jury of numerous piano competitions as well as led many master classes. She has taught piano in numerous settings. We are very fortunate to have her teach on Mondays at Gray School of Music. For hours when she is not practicing, performing, or teaching, Chengzi enjoys walking her two dogs and teaching intermediate and older students from ages 10-95.
