Sangsoo Kim Piano Teacher for Gray School of Music
Sangsoo Kim earned his Bachelor of Music at Seoul National University in South Korea with piano performance degree, and earned his M.M. in Piano Performance and Performance Diploma from the prestigious Indiana University under Emile Naoumoff. While at IU, he earned a Graduate Program Scholarship for two years, an award in Artistic Excellence and worked as an Associate Instructor for the school of music where he taught both private lessons as well as group classes.
In August 2020, Kim started his Doctoral degree at The University of North Texas under renowned and beloved instructor, Dr. Pamela Mia Paul. He is currently working as a Teaching Fellow for group and private lessons for college music majors and non-majors, as well as studying pedagogy with Dr. Brad Beckman. He is the prize winner and scholarship recipient at 9th Petroff Piano Competition, 2022 Texoma Piano Competition, and 13th Texas State International Piano Festival Concerto Competition winner. He performed Prokofiev Concerto No.3 with Central Texas Philharmonic under the baton of Stefan Sanders.
Other than musical life, he enjoys all kinds of sports. He is a huge fan of skiing and snowboarding in winter and goes to the beach and lake for swimming in summer, as well as tennis, badminton, and table tennis.
